Was "up" part of a phrasal verb such as "stay up" or "let up"?"Let's stay up until midnight" would have a different meaning than "Let's stay until midnight."
Thank you for positing the comment.It's not part of a phrasal verb.For example;Up until just a short while ago, Japan was said to be the safest country in the world.Up until 1977, the United States led the world in the development of fast-breeder reactors.
