I just learned the word, "golden years."
I feel that it's a bit strange, because in Japan, "silver" is used for something old ages. For example, priority seats for old folks is called "silver seats", and the word "silver age" is used for old generation.
The reason "silver" is used in Japanese is, I guess that it comes from gray hair. But
I wonder why "golden" is used in English.

hieee sand.. glad to see ur reply. while in this blog u had mentioned about "Golden years" as per my knowledge it is call 50 years as a Golden year.
