I was almost losing my wallet!

I was in a family restaurant to do my work. When I go to a bathroom, I always leave my bags at my table but bring just my wallet just in case.

I found that I didn't have my wallet! Oops! I went to the bathroom in a hurry but I couldn't find it. So I asked a staff. Fortunately, my wallet was turned in safely. Money, credit cards, a drivers license card etc... everything is in.
Thank you, someone who turned in it!

Japanese are really good people about a kind of this matter. Such a safety country is only Japan?

Refer to another my lost wallet story.

Telepathy?

I was thinking about my friend yesterday. I wondered if how he was and guessed I sent an email. I didn't send though.

Then I received an email from him today. What a coincidence! Hmm... it is a kind of telepathy? Human beings might not lose such ability.

Snowing

It is snowing!
It's the coldest day today in Tokyo in this winter so far. Brrr...

I hope it stops before the ground is covered with snow. Otherwise small panics happen because it seldom snows in Tokyo.

Oops! I almost became a work-oriented person again.

The first week at my new jog has finished. Whew... It was very busy week. I had many meeting and worked till late every day. I'm tired. So I couldn't do anything except for job, such as English studying.

No. I am giving top priority to job again. No. I was supposed to decide to place a higher priority on my personal life. Dang.

Finally my new job started.

Yesterday, my new job finally started.
It was really good that my fever had been down, I am still coughing though.

I didn't go Hatsumode (=new year's visit to shrine) on New Year's Day so I went to Meiji shrine to hope my success.

From day one, I had some ENGLISH meeting. I think it is why I was very tired. Hmm... I know, it is my biggest challenge.

Today, I have a lot of meeting. I have meeting all day today.

A busy sick person

This morning, I still had a fever. But I have a lot of things to do. My new job will start tomorrow.

After I got up, I studied English as usual, did the laundry, polished my shoes and went to shopping. I had to buy some things.

I ate sushi for lunch! and came back home.
Now I am bleaching my clothes. I still have more things to do.

I hope I will be fine tomorrow.

Almost dying

38.6 degrees C.
I'm almost dying...

The worst condition now

My temperature is up again. Coughing is getting worse and I have a headache instead of a stmachache. Terrible.

Saturday, January 12, 2008

My fever was gone.

I ended up staying home all day yesterday.

I went to a nearby drug store at 10am. I consulted a pharmacist and I bought Chinese medicine he recommended, throat washing and propolis candy.

In the morning, I read an English book tamely. After lunch, I decided to take a nap a little. (It's not a lazy nap I always do. It's an intended nap.) I planed to wake up around 1:30 or 2:00pm, and if I had recovered when I woke up, I had intended to go out.

But, I woke up 9pm! Oops! It became a usual lazy nap... After that, I ate supper and I could sleep again soon.

This morning, my fever and stomachache were gone. Hmm... The medicine the pharmacist recommened and a lot of sleep worked. But I still cough. I knew. It is another problem.

Getting worse

Uh... it seems that I can't go out. I start feeling sick. I will go to a nearby drug store to buy medicine when it opens.

Going shopping or staying home?

Good morning,

I still have a fever. Hmm. I intended to go shopping. I have to do. Should I stay home today? But it will rain tomorrow, or it may snow. Brr... So I may as well finish shopping by today.
I have not only a fever but also stomachache a bit.
I guess I finish shopping in the morning and take it easy in the afternoon.

I have a fever!

Now, I checked my temperature because I feel a bit feverish.

Oops, I have a fever.

Shoot!

I'm going to bed. I hope I will recover by tomorrow morning.

Good night.

I have mycoplasma pneumonia??

My bad cough still continues. It got better a little once, but it got worse again.

It reminded me a mail from a friend of mine at the beginning of the last month.
In the mail, she said that mycoplasma pneumonia was spreading in a kindergarten of his daughter and she herself was coughing.

I checked about mycoplasma pneumonia in the Internet.
It is a kind of slight pneumonia. Hmm... my symptoms apply for it, except for fever. I didn't have a fever, I think, maybe... I'm not sure. I haven't checked my temperature...
According to the article, the symptoms continue for about a month.

I usually don't take any medicine because they don't work on me at all. But I was thinking about buying any medicine for a cough because I want to be cured before starting work for a new company next week.
But if I had mycoplasma pneumonia, it would be no use...

Cute and incredible!

My friend who lives in Australia was kind enough to send me a newspaper clipping. It is the photo that a polar bear and a dog play together. Yes, polar bear is my most favorite animal.

According to the article, a sled dog handler said that polar bears would seek out his Canadian Eskimo working dogs for play.
A person who took this picture couldn't believe that at first, then he went to stay with him to see if he could capture it on film.
One evening, a bear made his way towards the 60 dogs' pack. The dogs were barking, except for one. The bear approached this dog, lay down in front of him and put out his paws, as if asking him to play.
The article also says that polar bear experts can't explain this behavior.

I took a photo of this newspaper clipping to put it on my blog. I'm sorry that it is not clear.
But, look! It is very cute. Especially take notice of the bear's cute left front paw and the dog's placid face!

Mild weather won't continue.

Following yesterday, it was also mild today, it was less warm than yesterday though.
Surprisingly, New York was warmer than Tokyo. Hmm... Abnormal climate...

Unfortunately, this warm weather in Tokyo won't continue. It will be cold again from tomorrow and be getting colder and colder. Brr...

Mild weather and refreshed my machine

It's mild today. Good weather. According to the news, high temperature in Tokyo today is 15 degrees C and it is the weather in March.
I turned off an air-conditioner and opened the window, but it's not cold at all. It is almost spring!

I left my bicycle for a while. I haven't ridden it recently because of cold and haven't maintained it at all. So it was dirty and the air in its tires was very low.I went to a bicycle shop to pump into the tires, then I cleaned it up.Sorry for neglecting you for a long time, my machine. I should have maintained you by the end of the last year.

I bicycled in my neighborhood a little in the fine climate. Oh, it's a good buzz!!

What is decafe?

I have sometimes seen "decafe", in pantries (cafe bars?) of foreign companies, or in cafes overseas. I wondered if it was a kind of coffee, such as Mocha and Blue Mountain, but it seemed to be different from them...

Then, I finally knew it today. It is coffee without caffeine. It doesn't penetrate Japan.

Coffee without caffeine, Diet Coke... I always feel those are strange. Or more like that I feel people who drink them strange. If you are worried about your health, you should not drink coffee. If you are worried about your calories or your weight, you should quit drinking coke.

Stoppage of the Dakar Rally

I translated the news.
----------
The organizer decided to cancel the Dakar Rally. It is the first time in the 3o-year history to be called off completely.

The reason is the worsening security situation in Mauritania.
A French family of 4 was killed during sightseeing in Mauritania last month. It is said that al Qaeda was involved in it. The French government expressed concern about holding the Dakar Rally and urged French racers not to participate in it.
----------

Many racers were preparing for the race very hard. I feel sorry for them. Safety and their lives are most important though.

I had done rally before. (Of course, I had participated in just the internal events.) The essential things to participate in the rally are... physical strength, guts.. a---nd money.

How to reset the TV

I asked a service station to repair the TV.
A service man came to my place and checked the TV. Then he pulled out the plug and waited for a while. He plugged in and turned on the TV, and then it started working.

According to the service man, he tried to reset the TV. The cause is unknown. If the same thing happens, it might be necessary to change any part.

I didn't know that how to reset the TV was pulling out the plug, waiting for a few minutes and plugging in again. I see...

But my TV is very old, so it might be effective just in old TVs.

Concentrate on studying!

Suddenly, the TV stopped working. All of sudden. The cause is unknown.

Hmm... I wonder if it's God's will. God made appropriate situation for me to concentrate on studying.

Working people who study something

I got intense cravings for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Not just fried chicken. Kentucky Fried Chicken.
But unfortunately, there is no KFC in my neighborhood, so I went to MacDonald's. No meaning...

In the MacDonald's, I found many people who were studying something. There were books and notebooks on their tables, and they were concentrating on studying, even it's still new years days.
They don't look like students. They probably study something for their jobs.

As I wrote on my blog, my new job will start soon then I have to catch up new technology which is very difficult and extensive, and above all, have to have English conversation in the work.
So I must study both new technology and English intensively.

There are many people who have to study something hard like me. OK, I study as hard as them.
By the way, I studied English in the MacDonald's today.

I will go to any KFC to eat its chicken!

Shops in the first 3 days of the new year

This new year is very cold.

I went to 100yen shop to buy some stuff. But! It was closed although I came in the cold. Oops!

I saw the web site of the shop to check before going there whether it has already opened, but there was no information about that.

When I was a kid, most of the shops and restaurants were closed in the first 3 days of the new year. But recently, many of them open from 2nd, some of them open even from 1st. So I took it for granted that the 100yen shop opened. According to a sign displayed on the shop's door, it will open from 4th. Hmm... Too late for recent trend.

The new English phrase

I learned a new English phrase from a blog site of a native speaker of English.

The night is still young.

Night is young?!?! It's interesting expression.

So, I wonder if there is "old night".

Happy New Year 2008

Happy New Year!

Last year, I was TOO lazy as ever. So my goal of this year isn't changed.

Breaking out of my laziness

And the keywords of this year have been, since 2006, following;

Trust, Preparation, Do my best

My goals are not changed for a while. It means I haven't improved at all. Remorse.
I really want to make this year a good one.

Especially, I LOVE napping. Nap (sleep) is almost the same as drugs for me. (Note: I have never taken drugs.)
I can't stop it. I like it more than anything else. I'm happy when I'm napping. I can't resist the attraction of napping.
I have to overcome this temptation. I will break my addiction to napping.

Then, as a reward for something, I will sometimes sleep all day!
